Electrically Conductive Rubber Gasket. Most rubber materials are electrical insulators. If the rubber material is used to manufacture conductive products, it is necessary to add conductive agents in the rubber material, that is, conductive filler or metal filler. It is distributed in the rubber to form chain and network channels to produce electrical conduction. Commonly used conductive agents are carbon black, graphite powder, metal powder and conductive fibers. The particle size and structure of carbon black have great influence on the electrical conductivity of rubber, which is the main conductive agent.

1. Conductive carbon black
The main varieties are N293, N294, N472. N293 and N294 have fine particle size, high structure, high surface activity and good reinforcing properties. N472 has a very high surface area and structure, BET surface area is 20m2/g, DBP oil absorption value reaches 1.78cm3/g, the electrical conductivity in the compound is higher than N293, N294, acetylene and carbon black, but the reinforcement is not as good as N293 and N94. N294 with moderate reinforcement and conductivity has been eliminated. The heat generated during mixing of conductive carbon black should be prevented from burning.
2. Acetylene black
It is a kind of carbon black with medium particle size (30 ~ 40nm), the highest structure (DBP oil absorption value 3.0 ~ 3.5cm3/g), very low volatile and ash content, so it has good electrical and thermal conductivity, and has a medium level of strength. The volume resistivity of vulcanized rubber is about 10 ~ 1002·cm. But the rubber is high in heat. The usual dosage is between 40 and 50.
3. Graphite powder
Its appearance is a smooth black scaly, glossy powder with a relative density of 2.2. The carbon content of graphite is more than 90%. Flake graphite and colloidal graphite are commonly used. Graphite is weakly basic, stable chemical properties, strong conductivity, can make the volume resistivity of vulcanized rubber is lower than 102·cm. But the combination of graphite powder and rubber ability is poor, in mixing should not eat material, so that the rubber becomes hard roll off. Therefore, it is often used with conductive carbon black. In addition, sulfide rubber containing graphite after several bending conductivity decreased.
4. Metal powder
Metal is a good conductor of electricity. Adding metal powder to rubber can also make rubber conduct electricity. Commonly used iron powder, copper powder, aluminum powder and so on. Although the binding property of metal powder and rubber is not very good, it is difficult to disperse in rubber, copper and iron will accelerate the aging of rubber products and increase the quality of the system, but because of its good electrical conductivity, it is still used.
5. Conductive fibers
Such as adding carbon fiber, graphite fiber, metal whisker, metal fiber, etc., in the rubber can also make the conductive. It is generally used with conductive filler when applied. Carbon fiber and graphite fiber have high electrical and thermal conductivity and high temperature resistance, but their high price greatly limits their application scope
